Chris Reed

Chris Reed runs a sheep and cattle property at Burra in South Australia that has been in the family for over one hundred and fourty years. He is also a professional woolclasser and has classed widely in SA and interstate. Chris spent ten years as a councillor in local government prior to becoming involved in Natural Resource Management as the inaugural Chairman of the Eastern Districts Soil Conservation Board in the mid 1990's. He was a key driver of the Rangeland Soil Board Executive, being the first Strategic NRM Body formed in the SA Rangelands. This was followed by his Chairmanship of the SA Rangelands Integrated NRM Group and his recent appointment as Presiding Member of the South Australian Arid Lands NRM Board. He is also a member of the Centre for Natural Resource Management Board of South Australia and fulfills the regional representation position for South Australia on the Lake Eyre Basin Community Advisory Committee. Chris has a strong committment to community service and sustainable agriculture.

Chris represents SA community and regional NRM interests on the CAC.
