Jan McIntyre has been involved in the pastoral industry all her life, having been brought up on the land around Longreach and Muttaburra in Central Western QLD and then working alongside her partner in the running of their property north of Winton. She has always been very passionate about sustainable NRM management and was actively involved in several grazing management groups along with being a committee member of the Georgina/Diamantina Catchment. She was also involved with Desert Channels Queensland and still maintains that link.
Jan believes in the whole of the basin approach and sees communication and education in the community and beyond, as being the main drivers to allow the many and varied groups to work together for the future of one of the most special and pristine areas in the world.
She and her partner now reside in Brisbane, Qld.
Jan represents community and pastoral interests on the CAC.
